This field lecture was the first industrial field visit conducted by the Mathematics Study Program, aiming to observe the application of mathematics in the industrial sector, which is expected to be highly beneficial for mathematics students in the future.

The visit was coordinated by Dr. Siti Rusdiana and officially opened by the Head of the Mathematics Study Program, Nurmaulidar, M.Sc. After the opening session, the group traveled to PT LCI by bus. Upon arrival at the site, the students and lecturers were warmly welcomed by Keumala Putri and Faraby Azwany as field coordinators from PT LCI, who guided the participants throughout the field lecture activities.

The first agenda was a site tour around the factory using a bus, followed by a public lecture about PT LCI delivered by one of the operational supervisors, Mr. Aidil. In his welcoming remarks, he stated, “The working environment is very different from academic life. Hopefully, the knowledge you gain here will broaden your insight into the industrial world.” During the public lecture session, the field coordinators from PT LCI explained the history of the company as well as the production process of Andalas cement. The session concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and the presentation of certificates.

Through the implementation of this field lecture at PT LCI, it is expected that students will gain broader insights into the professional world while also serving as a promotional platform for the Mathematics Study Program within the industrial sector.
