About Program
The Bachelor of Mathematics Program (PSM) at Universitas Syiah Kuala, established in 1989, provides a contemporary education adaptable to the Industrial Revolution 4.0, offering nine specializations including Computational Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Operations Research. The program is supported by 25 permanent faculty members and adjunct lecturers, who contribute diverse expertise to inspire students. Furthermore, PSM actively implements the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, allowing students to gain practical, relevant experience by converting their one-semester MBKM activities into academic credits through elective courses, thereby ensuring graduates are well-equipped and competitive for the modern job market.

To produce graduates who are faithful to Allah SWT, excellent, independent, creative, and innovative, with a socio-sciencepreneur spirit and the ability to analyze problems systematically, accurately, and logically, as well as to offer alternative solutions that support sustainable development.
To expand and ensure equitable access and improve the quality of learning, research, mathematics education services, and community engagement that are excellent, innovative, competitive, and sustainable.
To establish institutional collaborations at national and international levels in the study and application of mathematics to develop and preserve science and technology oriented toward Aceh’s potential for the welfare of society.
To implement an integrated quality management system in academic and non-academic fields effectively and efficiently, supported by accountable and transparent institutional governance.
Objectives of the Study Program
- To produce graduates with competencies in mathematics and its applications who possess a socio-sciencepreneur character, are highly competitive, faithful to Allah SWT, excellent, independent, creative, and innovative;
- To enhance the expansion and equitable access to higher education that meets quality standards;
- To improve the quality and relevance of higher education in becoming an excellent partner in national development by promoting the role of basic sciences in increasing national competitiveness and societal well-being; and
- To strengthen integrated quality management in both academic and non- academic fields through accountable governance.
