Since 2016, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) has regularly organized social service activities as part of its community engagement agenda. In 2018, the program was conducted from October 7 to October 12 under the theme “Integrated Social Service” in commemoration of the 57th anniversary of Universitas Syiah Kuala, and was held in Aceh Jaya Regency. In relation to this event, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) actively participated on October 11, 2018.
Several activities organized by FMIPA during this program included:
- MIPA Ceria Seminar
- Training on Laboratory Revitalization for Senior High School Teachers
- Socialization on the Impact of Heavy Metal Usage
- Tips and Strategies for Students to Succeed in the SBMPTN Entrance Examination
All activities were held at SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Sabee and were attended by senior high school teachers from across Aceh Jaya Regency. Within this series of events, the Mathematics Study Program also played an active role. The program began with the MIPA Ceria seminar featuring several speakers, one of whom was Ikhsan Maulidi, M.Si., a lecturer from the Mathematics Study Program.
The activities continued with a training session on computer laboratory revitalization delivered by Devi Firmansyah, S.Si. This session covered several topics, including basic computer maintenance, software installation, and learning strategies using mathematical software. Through this activity, it was expected that teachers would be better equipped to facilitate teaching and learning processes, particularly in mathematics education.
The event concluded with a group photo session and the distribution of certificates to participants.
