Students from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), have once again achieved national recognition. The student team, consisting of M. Reza Vahlevi, Attikah Humairah, and Birrul Walidaini, won the Gold Medal in the National Essay Competition at CREATION 3.0.

CREATION 3.0 was organized by the Creative Minority Student Activity Unit (UKM Creative Minority) of Universitas Malikussaleh on October 7–9, 2026, at Universitas Malikussaleh in Lhokseumawe. The competition provided a platform for students from various universities to present creative, innovative, and solution-oriented ideas through essays that could contribute to addressing a range of societal challenges.

As part of the competition, the team participated in the presentation round as one of the five finalists in the National Essay Competition. During this stage, the finalists presented their ideas and explained their potential applications. The presentation round gave participants an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to construct arguments, communicate ideas effectively, and defend their proposals in an academic setting.

Winning the Gold Medal demonstrates the students’ ability to develop and present innovative ideas through a scientific competition. This achievement also highlights that students of the Department of Mathematics are not only focused on mastering mathematical knowledge but are also actively involved in academic activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Participation in this competition is expected to provide valuable experience for the students in strengthening their analytical thinking, teamwork, and ability to communicate ideas systematically and persuasively. These experiences will also serve as valuable preparation for their academic studies, research activities, and future innovation development.

This achievement also contributes to enhancing student competitiveness and strengthening the positive reputation of Universitas Syiah Kuala at the national level. The ideas developed through essay competitions are expected to go beyond winning awards and inspire the development of practical solutions that benefit society.

The Department of Mathematics, FMIPA USK, congratulates M. Reza Vahlevi, Attikah Humairah, and Birrul Walidaini on their achievement at CREATION 3.0. This success is expected to inspire other students to continue developing their potential, producing innovative work, and confidently participating in competitions at both national and international levels.
