The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala, conducted a Site Visit Assessment for the accreditation of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program on April 27–28, 2026. The activity took place within the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA USK, Banda Aceh, as an essential part of the quality assurance process and efforts to enhance the quality of higher education.
This site visit assessment was organized by LAMSAMA in collaboration with Universitas Syiah Kuala, involving two LAMSAMA assessors: Prof. Dr. Janson Naiborhu and Prof. Dr. Fajar Adi Kusumo, M.Si. The event was also attended by key stakeholders within USK, including university leaders, faculty management, quality assurance units, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, as well as external stakeholders and graduate users. Accreditation conducted by LAMSAMA (the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences) is an external evaluation process aimed at ensuring that study programs meet nationally established higher education quality standards.
On the first day, Monday (April 27, 2026), the activity began with the opening session, introduction of the assessor panel, and the reading and signing of the site visit assessment statement. This was followed by a series of important sessions, including meetings with the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), internal quality assurance implementers, and data verification related to the Study Program Performance Report (LKPS) and Self-Evaluation Report (LED).
In addition, discussion sessions were held with program management, alumni, external users, and students. These sessions aimed to gather information regarding program performance, stakeholder involvement, and satisfaction levels with the academic services provided.
On the second day, Tuesday (April 28, 2026), the activities continued with a site inspection to directly observe the facilities and infrastructure of the Department of Mathematics. The assessors also conducted confirmation sessions with lecturers and administrative staff to evaluate performance, engagement, and service quality.
After completing the entire assessment process, the assessor team carried out an independent review to prepare the draft minutes and accreditation recommendations. The activity concluded with the delivery of feedback to the study program, signing of the official assessment report, and the closing session.
The implementation of this site visit assessment serves as an important milestone for the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program at FMIPA USK in demonstrating its commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of education, research, and community service.
Through a comprehensive and objective evaluation process, it is expected that the Mathematics Study Program will continue to develop into an excellent, adaptive, and relevant program, producing graduates who are competent and highly competitive at both national and international levels.
