Marwan is a Professor in Applied Mathematics and currently as an actively lecturer and researcher at Mathematics Department and Mathematics Graduated Study Program, Syiah Kuala University. Prof. Marwan born on November 25, 1971 in Tanjung Pinang, Kepulauan Riau. He completed his Ph.D in Applied Mathematics especially in Extreme Water Waves Generation from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia collaboration with University of Twente The Netherlands, in 2006 under supervisions Prof. Dr. M. Ansjar, Dr. Andonowati, Prof. Dr. Edy Soewono and Prof. Dr. E. van Groesen. He finished his Master degree in Mathematics from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, in 1999, under supervision Prof. Dr. Sunardi Wirjosudirjo. He finished his BSc in Mathematics from Syiah Kuala University, Indonesia, in 1996, under supervision Dr. Widodo Samyono and Dr. Said Munzir. Since joining the department of mathematics, Prof. Marwan has conducted many Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi activities, such as teaching, supervising students, conducting research, producing publications in scientific journals and writing books. Until now he has produced at least 70 publications in various journals and proceedings and also 5 books.
