Field of Study: Optimal Control and Sport Dynamics
Dr. Said Munzir, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc.
Holding a B.Sc. in Mathematics from ITS Surabaya (1993), an M.Eng.Sc. in Control Engineering (2000), and a Ph.D. in Computational Optimal Control from UWA-Australia (2007) under the supervision of Prof. Leslie S. Jennings. Since joining Syiah Kuala University, my research focus has evolved from numerical simulation of air pollution (HEDS-USAID research, 1994) and nonlinear control systems (published in IEEE TENCON 2000), to currently concentrating on the development of Computational Optimal Control and its applications relevant to immediate development needs—including biomechanical modeling, fish population control, optimization of economic indicators (inflation, interest rates), and earthquake/tsunami evacuation simulations using traffic equations. Currently, I serve as the Head of the Master Programme in Mathematics at USK and am involved in research collaborations, such as with the Aceh Transportation Department for parking optimization in Banda Aceh.
