I was born in Banda Aceh in 1970 and completed my bachelor degree from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Syiah Kuala University in 1994 before obtaining a master degree in Mathematics at South Sumatera University. Since 1995, I have been joining the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA, Syiah Kuala University as a lecture as well as researcher. In the department, I am in-charged for handling courses, such as Fundamentals of Mathematics, Numerical Methods, and Numeric Partial Differential Equations. In addition to teaching, I have published some scientific articles in national and international journals and proceedings. My mostly-cited article is entitled “General circulation in the Malacca Strait and Andaman Sea: a numerical model study” published in 2012 in American Journal of Environmental Sciences.
