Another proud achievement has been attained by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program (Bachelor of Mathematics) has successfully earned the Excellent Accreditation (Akreditasi Unggul) from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) based on LAMSAMA Decree No. 136/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/V/2026.
The Excellent Accreditation status is valid for five (5) years, from May 22, 2026, to May 21, 2031. This achievement represents formal recognition of the Mathematics Study Program’s commitment to maintaining and continuously improving the quality of higher education, research, community service, and sustainable academic governance.
Excellent Accreditation is the highest accreditation rating within Indonesia’s higher education accreditation system. This accomplishment demonstrates that the Undergraduate Mathematics Program has met the nationally established quality standards in various aspects, including curriculum design, teaching and learning processes, the quality of academic and administrative staff, supporting facilities, student and graduate outcomes, research performance, and the quality assurance system implemented within the program.
This success is the result of the collective efforts and collaboration of the entire academic community, including university leaders, faculty and department management, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, industry partners, and graduate employers who have continuously supported the development of the study program.
Prior to receiving this accreditation, the Undergraduate Mathematics Program underwent a comprehensive site assessment conducted by the LAMSAMA assessment team in April 2026. During the evaluation process, various academic and non-academic aspects were thoroughly reviewed to ensure compliance with national higher education quality standards.
The achievement of Excellent Accreditation is expected to further strengthen the position of the Undergraduate Mathematics Program at FMIPA USK as one of the leading and competitive mathematics programs at both the national and international levels. Furthermore, this accomplishment serves as motivation to continuously enhance the quality of educational services, produce highly competent and competitive graduates, and expand contributions to the advancement and application of mathematics for the benefit of society.
