Alumni Testimonials
In 2007, my first choice of university was the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Unsyiah. There was no hesitation in choosing this major because I truly love mathematics. I am very grateful to be able to study and be guided by the best lecturers in the Mathematics Department. Studying in the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences develops accurate and precise thinking and problem-solving skills. This is a key asset for survival in the workforce. Mathematics graduates have many opportunities comparable to those of other majors. Thank God, I have had a two-year career in the Internal Audit department of the hotel industry and am now in my ninth year in the internal audit department of the banking industry.

In the Mathematics Department, we don’t just learn about mathematical theories — we also learn to take responsibility for the grades we earn. A good department is not measured by how many students it has, but by how many of its students and alumni make a positive impact, directly or indirectly, on the people around them.

In the Mathematics Study Program, we don’t just learn how to calculate — we are guided to use logical thinking and apply mathematics to everyday life. There are many valuable extracurricular activities, ranging from open organizations to small group research projects. The most rewarding aspect of studying in the Mathematics Department is the lecturers, whose outstanding achievements have truly inspired me.

During my school days, I dreamed of applying mathematics in the real world, not just solving calculations on paper. The Mathematics program has opened my eyes to the role of mathematics in various other disciplines, such as computer science, engineering, economics, and even biology. Furthermore, the professors here are very supportive of various positive student activities outside of academics.
